Adventure for a cause

Come take a life changing journey with us and make some memories.
All you have to do is hop
on!
Reserve your saddle and Join me!
I need you to please ACT!

Do you want to be a part of a cause that is so much bigger than ourselves? Have you wanted to help build a bridge between people and animals? Would you like to be more involved in how we manage wildlife in the United States of America? Do you want to know exactly where your money goes when you donate to a nonprofit? Maybe you just need to get out of your comfort zone and do something that will have a life changing effect on you, while having a major impact on helping my cause of humans and wildlife to “co-thrive”. If you ACT with me, you can accomplish all of these, and so much more, while having an amazing time doing it.

I have been working with wolves for over 20 years. It is my opinion that wolf recovery is not a numerical goal that must be reached. I don’t believe using this metric is fair to wolves or the communities that live with them. It is a politically short-sighted vision that will not lead to coexistence, let alone “co-thriving” between humans and wolves. We need to foster a scenario that allows wolves and rural communities to thrive on the landscape in equitable harmony together. I believe that only when this is done, will we have recovered wolves in the United States in a way that benefits all.

I have been on the front lines of wolf conservation over the last decade, and I have seen time and time again the pitfalls that plague “wolf recovery”, in the sense that I have described above. I have had wolves that I know personally get killed, whether legally by our state or illegally by the public. I have seen ranching families that I am honored to call friends, drug through the system for nefarious reasons. This is not only antithetical to my work, but it breaks my heart, because it is not necessary.

In 2020 I decided to take an idea that I have had in my head for the last 8 years and bring it to reality. The name for this idea is Active Conservation Tours, or ACT rides. ACT rides deal directly with you, members of the public. This is an opportunity for you and me to directly disrupt the cycle that impedes truly recovering wolves while keeping rural cultures intact.
